Aston History Group has just completed a film about Aston’s history. It is available now on DVD.

This is not a comprehensive history but a look at various aspects of the past starting from clues in the village of today.

Just over 60 minutes in length, it is divided into a number of sections each easily accessible from the opening menu.

Several local people appear in the film which was directed by Andrew Long, founding member of Aston History Group.

The majority of filming and all of the edited was done by Catherine Bowley, who recently graduated from De Montfort University, Leicester with a degree in Media Production. The script is by Andrew Long and Martin Bowley is the narrator.

We expect the film will be of interest to visitors and newcomers to the village but also to anyone with connections to the village or parish whether those connections are recent or more distant.

The DVD is available from The Post Office in Aston or from Church Green Books in Witney – Price £10

Copies are our publication "A History of Aston School" (price £3.00) are available by contacting Gill at the Aston Post Office

The Aston History Group meets in the Fellowship Centre on Cote Road on the last Thursday of the month at 7:30pm.

New members are always welcome. Guests are also welcome but we would ask for a payment of £2.00 to be made per visit
